Ah, push it. Push it good.

Cheryl James and Sandra Denton, better known as the ‘90s hip-hop duo Salt-N-Pepa, will hit the stage at the Phantom Gourmet BBQ & Music Festival on Friday, June 20, in City Hall Plaza.

Salt-N-Pepa are the second major act to sign on for the expanding food festival, following in the footsteps of local legends The Mighty Mighty Bosstones. The Dicky Barrett-fronted group will play the festival on Saturday, June 21.

The folks at Phantom, founded by Dave Andelman, are calling Friday’s portion of the festival “ThrowBBaq Night,’’ and tickets for the 5 p.m. to 10:45 p.m. portion of the evening will cost $15. Admission from noon until 4 p.m. that same day will be complimentary.

“We’re really looking forward to making this one of the best events around this summer,’’ Andelman said in a statement. “Salt-N-Pepa is one of the most fun groups of all time and it’ll be a great throwback for our first ‘BBQ & Music Festival.’ We’re proud to bring this – along with ‘Dicky Barrett’s Birthday Bash’ the following night – to our ‘phans’ in an effort to create an unforgettable weekend.’’
