Michael Jackson’s first posthumous studio album finally has a release date (May 13), which means it’s time to get your moonwalk on.

“Xscape’’ will include eight previously unreleased songs by the legendary singer that have been “contemporized,’’ Epic Records chairman and CEO L.A. Reid said in a statement via Rolling Stone.

“Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with,’’ Reid said in a statement. “We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.’’

Rolling Stone reports that the lead producer duties were helmed by Timbaland, while the likes of Rodney Jerkins, Stargate, Jerome “Jroc’’ Harmon and John McClain served as additional producers.

A deluxe version of “Xscape’’ will also include the original, unaltered recordings of each track.

Fans can begin pre-ordering the album on Tuesday, April 1.
