Here’s the newest peek into Casey Affleck’s ‘Manchester by the Sea’
just released a new look into what is being considered the next great movie set in the Boston area, Manchester by the Sea.
Casey Affleck plays Lee Chandler, a janitor in Quincy who is forced into a father role for his teenage nephew Patrick (Lucas Hedges) after the boy’s father passes away, in the Kenneth Lonergan film. In doing so, Chandler is forced to return to his hometown and deal with his past.
In the newest Manchester by the Sea clip, the film’s stars Affleck and Michelle Williams, who plays Chandler’s estranged ex-wife, have an emotional encounter.
Manchester by the Sea is already receiving buzz for next year’s Oscars since debuting at the Sundance Film Festival in January, with critics calling it “a masterpiece.” Other Boston notables who worked on the project include the film’s producers Matt Damon and John Krasinski.
Manchester by the Sea is expected to land in theaters November 18.
