These are the people who waited in crazy lines for Star Wars in Boston
And the rain. And the dark. And in costume.
The scene at AMC’s Boston Common movie theater Thursday night was, to put it simply, a mad house. Folks from all over came into the city to see the highly anticipated next film in the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
While the downtown cinema was hosting a handful of screenings, it only featured one showing in IMAX, which drew a long line outside of the building for most of the day. Twenty-five-year-old Kyle Babbitt, who said he’s been a Star Wars fan his whole life, was the first person in line. He’d been there since 7 a.m. on Thursday, holding down the lead spot so he and his friends could grab the best seats in the house at the 10 p.m. IMAX screening.
Ambitious? Nah. Fifteen hours is a cake walk for these Star Wars fans. Boston.com interviewed Star Wars fanatics about their abiding love of everything Force-related while they waited in line.
