Black Mass got no nomination love from the Golden Globes, but Matt Damon and Spotlight definitely did

The 2016 Golden Globes nominations for the best movies and TV series were announced Thursday morning.

What you need to know: Spotlight earned three nominations, including Best Drama. The Martian, starring Matt Damon, earned three nominations, including Best Actor in a Comedy for Damon. Joy, a David O. Russell movie filmed in Boston last winter, earned two nominations. Medfield’s Uzo Aduba and Acton’s Steve Carell each earned one nomination, respectively. Inside Out, starring the voice of Burlington’s Amy Poehler, earned one nomination.

And Black Mass, the Whitey Bulger bio-pic starring Johnny Depp, earned absolutely nothing.

The 73rd annual Golden Globes air Sunday, January 10, 2016 on NBC.
