Morgan Freeman Joins Mark Wahlberg in Boston-Based ‘Ted 2’
Morgan Freeman has landed a role in “Ted 2’’ as a civil rights lawyer, according to a Variety exclusive.
Freeman is set to act alongside Bostonian Mark Walhberg in Seth MacFarlane’s follow-up to the 2012 smash “Ted,’’ which will star MacFarlane as the eponymous, foul-mouthed teddy bear.
Freeman is set to play a lawyer who helps Ted after the titular character gets into some legal trouble, per the Variety report, but the rest of the plot remains under wraps.
MacFarlane has reportedly expressed interest in getting a few A-listers to have cameos in the film, similar to the surprise appearances by his peers in, “A Million Ways to Die in the West.’’
Members of the “Ted 2’’ cast have been spotted filimg scenes around the city in locations suchas the South End, the Boston Public Garden and at the historic Marriott Custom House Hotel in the Financial District.

“Ted’’ was filmed in Boston in 2011 and 2012. “Ted 2’’ is scheduled for release on June 26, 2015.
