Here are some of the locals on the 2018 Forbes 30 Under 30 lists
These are just a handful of the young honorees with local ties.
Boston is no stranger to Forbes‘s 30 Under 30 lists.
Forbes released its annual feature on Tuesday, highlighting 600 individuals in 20 categories from business to sports.
With Boston’s many universities, it was no surprise that, once again, a plethora of locals were among those honored.
Here is a selection of just some of the Boston-area names featured in the 2018 edition.
- Irene Li, 27: The Brighton resident co-founded Mei Mei Street Kitchen and Restaurant with her two older siblings, serving Chinese-American cuisine from a food truck and now brick-and-mortar locations in Fenway and the Seaport. Li was also named to Zagat‘s national 30 Under 30 list in September.
- Jenny Xu, 20: The MIT student has already released nine mobile games that have been downloaded millions of times.
- Taylor Offer and Parker Burr: The Boston-based co-founders of subscription sock company FEAT Socks met at UMass and have collaborated with gymnast Aly Raisman.
- Yara Shahidi, 17: The future Harvard student currently stars on the ABC sitcom Black-ish and advocates for diversity in Hollywood.

- Hilary Knight, 28: The Boston Pride forward has seven World Championship golds and two Olympic silvers under her belt. Keep an eye out for her as Team USA ramps up preparations for the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.
- Melanie Cohn, 29: The senior manager of digital and social media at Dunkin’ Donuts also founded a Boston networking group for young women in marketing.
- Yichen Shen, 28: One of many MIT scientists to make the list, this researcher works on nanophotonic breakthroughs that Forbes says could shape the future of energy.
- Ohad Elhelo, 27: The Brandeis graduate founded Boston-area fellowship and accelerator Our Generation Speaks that brings together Israeli and Palestinian leaders through entrepreneurship.
