Here’s a look at the ‘American Idol’ auditions on Boston Common
Friday’s sunshine wasn’t the only reason to head out to Boston Common: The only New England stop on the American Idol auditions tour took place at Parkman Bandstand from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Anyone between the ages of 15 and 28 was invited to try out, and some started lining up before sunrise. Here’s a look at the excitement and music:

Audition videos can also be submitted online. The long-running talent show will air its first season on ABC sometime next year with Ryan Seacrest as host and Katy Perry as one of the judges.
