One lucky student at Berklee College of Music will be the recipient of one of Beyoncé’s ‘Formation’ scholarships for the 2017-2018 academic year.

In honor of the one-year anniversary of her Peabody Award-winning album “Lemonade,” the singer announced her new “Formation Scholars” program, which will award a $25,000 scholarship to one incoming, current, or graduate female student from each of the four participating colleges: Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College. The awards were designed to support ” young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious, and confident,” according to a post on Beyoncé’s website.

“We at Berklee love Beyoncé,” Berklee President Roger H. Brown said in a statement. “As a singer, writer, producer, performer, and humanitarian, Beyoncé is a strong and inspiring role model for our students.”

Applicants must be studying creative arts, music, literature, or African-American studies in order to be considered. Students must also submit a short essay detailing how ‘Lemonade’ “inspired their educational goals,” according to the release.

The name of the program is a reference to the album’s first hit single, which she performed during the Super Bowl 50 halftime show in 2016.
