Waltham-based seltzer company Spindrift asks: Why no lime emoji?
#NoLimeEmoji
A local seltzer company has teamed up with actress Kristen Bell on what is clearly the social media issue of our day: the lack of a lime emoji.
Spindrift, the Waltham-based seltzer company, announced the launch of its new lime flavor Tuesday morning. And with the unveiling of its 10th drink, the company also launched a social media campaign for a lime emoji.
“Spindrift has come up with a fun, creative idea for sharing their new Lime flavor and I’m totally on board with #NoLimeEmoji,’’ said Bell, star of “The Good Place’’ and “Veronica Mars,’’ in a statement. “How could there possibly be two apple emojis and no lime? That’s just bonkers.’’
Spindrift also announced that for every Twitter or Instagram post with #NoLimeEmoji, they’ll donate $1 to Whole Kids Foundation, a nonprofit that supports improved nutrition and wellness for children. Spindrift will donate up to $50,000 through March 30.
