Nicole Oliverio is switching stations

is moving from WHDH 7News to Boston 25 News (WFXT), making the switch to her new station beginning Friday.
Oliverio, who confirmed the news to the Globe, will co-anchor Boston 25’s 10 and 11 p.m. weekend broadcast with Chris Flanagan,and will report for Boston 25 Morning News on weekdays.
“I’m thrilled to be joining such a talented staff of journalists,’’ Oliverio said in a statement provided by Boston 25 News. “I got my start in television at Boston 25 as an intern more than 16 years ago, and it is a privilege to continue covering the news in Boston, where I grew up. I have always admired the station’s commitment to local news and in-depth reporting. I am excited to be joining a news team that focuses on issues that really matter to our communities, exposes problems, and gets results.’’
An Emmy award-winning journalist, Oliverio worked at WINK-TV in Florida, WCAX in Vermont, and WMDN in Mississippi prior to joining 7News, where she’s been since 2007.
