Knight Moves board game cafe opens in Somerville
Head to Teele Square to hang out, play Risk, and drink Nutella milkshakes.
A cafe with nearly 1,000 board games finally made the move over the Somerville.
Knight Moves, which has its original location in Brookline, announced plans to expand to Teele Square in Somerville this past January. The board game cafe opened at 1159 Broadway over the weekend.

The cafe wants to be your “living room away from home,” according to their website, by offering all kinds of games—from classics like Risk, Battleship, and Scrabble to a Game of Thrones board game and even Star Trek Catan—along with coffee, tea, Nutella milkshakes, pastries, grilled cheese, and cheese plates.
Patrons can camp out and play games by either buying a $40 monthly membership, a $5 daily cover charge Monday through Wednesday, or a $10 daily cover charge Thursday through Sunday.

“The whole move to Somerville is based on the need for a cafe and coffee shop in the community there,’’ Trevelyan told Boston.com in January. “We may see an older, neighborhood crowd, so we plan on opening a lot earlier in the day, perhaps around 11, to catch the morning coffee crowd.’’
The cafe is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
