Marty Walsh served as a groomsman for his chief of staff
He was the officiant, too.
As Marty Walsh’s chief of staff, Dan Koh can often be seen standing at the mayor’s side. On July 2, the roles were reversed, as Walsh stood beside Koh as a groomsman at his wedding.
Thank you to everyone who made this weekend so special. We will never forget it. #KohforSennett2016 @amysennett pic.twitter.com/EtRPtSDctd

Koh proposed to his now-wife Amy Sennett at the finish line of the 2015 Boston Marathon. The couple were married at Boston City Hall on June 23 with Walsh serving as the officiant, before the couple returned to Sennett’s home state of Wisconsin for a religious ceremony at the North Shore Congregational Church in Fox Point on July 2, according to The New York Times.
Koh told The Boston Globe in December that picking his boss to stand with him during his big day was an easy choice.
Koh said he couldn’t ask for a nicer guy to share his big day. He said he wanted members of the wedding party to be people whose kindness and grace fundamentally changed his life.
“Mayor Walsh is clearly one of those people,’’ Koh said.
Unsurprisingly, Mayor Walsh looks sharp in a tux, though he does look a little uncomfortable with the Ocean’s Eleven-style photo shoot.

Walsh managed to make it back to Boston from the wedding in time to celebrate the Fourth of July.
