Presenting the Bostonian of the Week

Here’s a weekly shoutout to a special someone in the city.

Welcome to Bostonian of the Week, a Boston.com series in which we give a giant high five to someone who’s done our fair city proud. This could be anyone in, around, or associated with Boston—from a wellness-obsessed supermodel wife of the town’s star quarterback to a little girl with a gibberish-laden sign at the Boston Marathon to the many other personalities that crop up around us in the news. The good eggs are out there, people.

On Sunday, a Hingham woman turned 100 years old, and, contrary to what you might think a person a whole century old might do on her birthday, she partied. She partied real good.

Millie, the woman of the hour, made headlines on Monday because said party included invites to area policemen and firefighters. A whole bunch of them showed up to Millie’s bash bearing flowers, balloons, and a giant poster-sized card that everyone signed.

Here are more pics taken from the shindig:

This week, we honor Millie, the merriest centenarian out there.
