Couple celebrates 50th anniversary in the same Boston hotel room as the one they honeymooned in
The Maine couple revisited the Sheraton Hotel for the special night.
In 1966, Larry and Diane Coughlin spent their honeymoon night at the Sheraton Boston. This past weekend, the Maine couple went back to celebrate their 50th anniversary in the same room.
Half a century ago, Larry’s brother splurged on a $19 hotel room for the newlyweds, CBS Boston reports. The couple kept the receipt all these years and called the Sheraton to ask if they could have the same deal on the same room for their anniversary. (According to the hotel’s site, rooms currently start at $374 a night.)
It worked.
