“You know it snowed a lot last niiiiiiight.’’

“Hello, it’s me…’’ Mother Nature. She’s bringing snow and school closures across New England, and some people are so excited, they’ve taken to singing their closing announcements. Really.

Providence’s Moses Brown School, an independent Quaker day school for girls and boys in nursery through grade 12, broke the three-day weekend news through a reworked cover of Adele’s “Hello.’’ The video stars head of the school Matt Glendinning, along with other staff and students, according to Vanyaland.

“Hello, can you hear me?’’ Glendinning sings. “I’m calling to remind you about where you don’t need to be. You are young now, and free. Might as well go out with snowshoes strapped upon your little feet.’’

For the ballad’s powerful chorus, he belts out, “You know it snowed a lot last night, and now it’s just not safe to dive.’’

This is a trend, apparently. Northbridge Public Schools announced their snow day to the tune of “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?’’ from Frozen.

Moses Brown also channeled the Disney movie last year with a “Let It Go’’ parody: “The snow glows white on Route 95, not a tire track to be seen,’’ Glendinning sung. “We could make you come to school, but that would just be mean.’’
