Boston ranks as a pretty awful place to tie the knot
In a new study of 150 cities, Boston makes the bottom 10.
Planning a wedding? Before it’s too late to get your deposit back, you should probably know that Boston is one of the worst cities to get married in, according to a WalletHub study.
As in, super bad: Out of 150 places, Boston came in at a lowly 141. (And Worcester was even lower at number 147).
WalletHub compared cities across the U.S. by tallying points based on 18 different topics, like overall costs and how many wedding-themed resources are in the area.
Boston was also deemed one of the worst five places in terms of wedding weather. (No surprise, three cities in California offered the most beautiful days for a wedding date.)
Boston came in pretty high (number 53) in terms of offering wedding planning resources based on the number of venues, event planners, bridal shops, and so on per 100,000 residents. But it’s the city’s high prices that brought Boston down—the city ranked at 143 for overall wedding cost.
All of these factors led to the overall ranking that landed Boston in the bottom 10 worst places to get hitched. In fact, no New England cities made the top 10.
Destination wedding, anyone?
