Happy holidays! Here’s a gingerbread display that weighs more than Gronk

It’s sitting inside Taj Boston.

Taj Boston, a luxury hotel situated along the Public Garden, just paid tribute to the city’s history and the holiday season with a massive, ingenious gingerbread creation.

The gingerbread display goes way beyond the traditional house to show the scene of the Boston Tea Party, including gingerbread tea crates tossed over the fondant-covered ships.

Just how big is this rendition? According to Boston Curbed, it clocks in at 283 pounds—for reference, Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowsi weighs 265. Here’s the breakdown of what went into the sugary scene:

– 108 pounds of dough

– 100 pounds of isomalt (a.k.a. sugar)

– 39 pounds of decorative fondant

– 36 pounds of icing as glue and snow

This created 117 tea boxes and took 388 hours to make, according to Curbed. Hope you like your tea sweet.

Last year, Taj recreated the Boston Common in gingerbread, swanboats and all:
