They’ve still got a lot of fight left in them.

A group of kids from the outpatient clinic of Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center are the stars of an inspiring new music video set to the tune of Rachel Platten’s hit “Fight Song.’’

Boston Children’s posted the video on its Thriving blog .

The video was the idea of 16-year-old Maddie Carlson of Goffstown, NH, who’s being treated for Ewing sarcoma, a bone cancer. She was assisted by Eva Bod, 17, of Newton, who is being treated for Hodgkin lymphoma.

“I wanted to do something in the clinic that would be fun for me and the kids and give me a reason to get up every morning and go get chemotherapy,’’ Maddie says. “People always listen to the song and say it reminds them of me, and it reminds me of all the kids there.’’

“It does a good job of showing how courage comes in different sizes,’’ says Eva. “I want the hope to be shared.’’

The video already appears to be sending big waves into motion, approaching ten thousand clicks on YouTube.
