These dads open up to their kids and everybody cries. You will too.

Mother’s day is all about showing your mom how much she means to you, but father’s day never seems to have the same tone. It’s more about barbecues and backyard football, right?

Not any more. Writing and filmmaking company Echo Storytelling Agency is rewriting the Father’s Day script.

The #TellThemNow campaign urges a more open dialogue between kids and their fathers, no matter the age.

As part of the experiment, the company asked ten fathers and their children to participate in a short video and ask each other one simple question. The kids, ranging from elementary-school age to grown adults, ask “Dad, what about me makes you proud?’’

The responses get emotional instantly. The dads let their guards down, and their kids rise up to meet them.

Parenting is hard, but one dad tells his son, “I’ve always been impressed by you. You made it easy.’’

Then, the kids reveal why they’re grateful for their fathers. One daughter says “Dad, I’m proud of you for knowing that the most important thing was giving your kids so much time.’’

And this video shows that there’s still time. So before it’s too late, tell them now.
