Write a letter to your 2018 self, and New Balance will send it to you in a year

It's like a time capsule for your goals.

If you could write yourself a letter knowing you’d get it back a year from now, what would you say? That this is the year you will run the Boston Marathon? Lose those last 10 pounds? Or maybe give yourself a break if you don’t achieve your New Year’s resolutions, and focus more on being unequivocally you?

Boston-based New Balance recently launched the “Letters to My Future Self” campaign, featuring a series of films starring athletes reading inspirational letters to their future selves aloud.

Alexis Sablone, an MIT graduate and architect who became a gold medalist at the X Games, is one of the athletes featured in the campaign. She writes in her letter:

Alexis,

Don’t do what’s expected of you.

That’s boring – more importantly, it’s not you at all.

You have to be yourself, and if that means being different, be different.

You’re a female, an individual, you have something positive to offer, so don’t limit yourself or let the world limit you.

As part of the campaign, you can write a letter of your own. Send it using the form at the bottom of this page, and New Balance will email it to you in a year—sort of like of a time capsule.
