This is what a group of young Bostonians dancing their butts off at a 7 a.m. rave looks like

Crowds of sweaty clubbers congregated at the House of Blues on Tuesday, decked out in neon swimwear, and throwing their hands up to the beat of humping pop and house music. A rave with a simple mission—to get the people going—was occurring.

It was 7 a.m.

Daybreaker Boston is a pre-sunrise sober dance party with a wellness initiative. For partygoers, the idea is to show up at work “with [their] brows slightly dewed from moving [their] bodies with reckless abandon, sans alcohol but with so much spirit,” according to their website. Daybreaker, which started in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is an alternative jump-start to the day that’s, for some, perhaps more appealing than dragging their butt to the gym.

The first-ever Boston edition of Daybreaker was during Halloween week in 2015. Tuesday’s iteration was themed “Bermuda Beach Party,” hence the sunnies, tropical shirts, floaties, and bathing suits. Again, this kind of shindig is booze-free; attendees have coffee—and healthy juices and snacks—instead.

Acro-yogi queen, Izzy VanHall, who is taking Instagram by storm with her killer yoga snapshots, also led an hour-long pre-party, sweat-inducing class for attendees at 6 a.m.

If you missed out on Daybreaker this time around, you’ll get another chance to dance your face off this summer. The early morning rave returns Thursday, July 14 at Icon Nightclub in Downtown Boston. Get ready to rise and grind.
