Boston’s doctors have done it again.

Last month, U.S. News & World Report chose Boston Children’s Hospital as the best pediatric hospital in the nation. Now, the publication has assessed about 5,000 hospitals to determine the “Best Hospitals’’ for 2015-2016, and Massachusetts General Hospital came out on top.

The hospital received the top spot on the “Honor Roll,’’ besting runner-up the Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins Hospital at No. 3.

U.S. News selected MGH as a “Nationally Ranked Hospital’’ in 16 adult specialties and three pediatric specialities. MGH placed in the top three for diabetes, ear, nose & throat, gastroenterology & GI surgery, neurology & neurosurgery, and psychiatry.

Boston’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital was one of 15 to make the Honor Roll, placing sixth with high marks in gynecology, cancer, cardiology & heart surgery, nephrology, pulmonology, and neurology & neurosurgery.

MGH ranked No. 2 last year and the year before, behind Mayo Clinic and Johns Hopkins, respectively.
