The Altuzarra for Target Lookbook Is Finally Here!
-

Designer Joseph Altuzarra’s hotly anticipated collaboration for Target FINALLY has a look book — and as we predicted, it is quitttteeeee sexy.
The capsule collection hits stores and Net-a-Porter.com this fall, so before you start making your wishlist, here are all the things you need to know.
-

Paris-born Joseph Altuzarra established his namesake line in 2008 after he graduated from Swathmore College with a degree in Art History.
He quickly rose to fame, winning the Ecco Domani Fashion Fund Award in 2010, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2011, the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear Design in 2012, and most recently, the CFDA Womenswear Designer of the Year award in June.
His signature sophisticated, sultry designs are favored by the likes of Lea Michele, Rihanna, Megan Fox, and Lupita Nyong’o. Impressed, yet?
-

The Altuzarra collaboration will hit Target store locations, Target.com, and Net-a-Porter.com on Sept. 14. The nearly 50-piece collection includes women’s apparel, accessories, and footwear.
-

The collection is garnet-heavy, with lots of sharp tailoring and draping techniques.
If there was ever a time to make a case for a plunging neckline, this would be it.
-

It also includes some lingerie… with strange lace eye masks?
-

But also plenty of office-friendly separates with this pretty orchid graphic print.
-

And this is the $89.99 gown that Target’s director of design partnerships wore to the CFDA Fashion Awards in early June. It will still be $89.99 when it arrives in stores.
-

Altuzarra told NY Magazine’s The Cut that he wants the line to “feel more expensive’’ than it really is.
Nothing in the collection costs more than $100.
-

That even includes this over-the-knee boot, tagged $79.99.
-

He also threw a bit of shade at previous collaborators, noting that he was “working a lot on cut, which is not something I think Target has done a lot of before.’’
-

A release from the retailer says of the collection:: “Altuzarra for Target reflects the brand’s sensual and sophisticated spirit, merging French seduction with American ease and intricate detailing.’’
Sounds good to us.
See you in September!
