Quvenzhané Wallis is the New Face of Armani Junior, Puppy Purse Replaced with Real Life Dog
The Oscar-nominated star of “Beasts of the Southern Wild’’ was announced as the face of Armani Junior, a line for tots through teens from the Italian fashion house. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Quvenzhané Wallis is the “first major child celebrity to be the face of a luxury brand.’’ In the first released photo from her campaign, the “Annie’’ actress is pictured wearing a sleek, structured black satin suit with a crisp white tuxedo shirt and bow-topped ballet flats. Instead of her signature puppy purse — man, we miss seeing that thing on the red carpet — she instead has a real life puppy! WITH FLOPPY EARS!
As if she could get any cuter!

“Quvenzhane is so talented, despite her young age,’’ Giorgio Armani said in a statement obtained by THR of his new spokesmodel. “Her kindness, curiosity and openness towards others really struck me, as they are all traits I admire. It is for this very reason that I wanted her to be the face of Armani Junior.’’
The Stefano Azario-photographed campaign featuring the 10-year-old will debut in international publications this June, per Women’s Wear Daily.
As for Wallis, she previously wore a custom blue gown by Armani to the 2013 Academy Awards, and from the sound of it, this is just the start of a beautiful friendship between the designer and his mini muse. “When I saw Mr. Armani’s Prive’ show in New York, the dresses were so pretty — I had too many favorites. Afterwards when I met him, I realized Mr. Armani is such a nice man. I liked that he was so thoughtful. It’s fun to wear Armani Junior since I really like the clothes. It’s young. It’s cool. My friends are going to want to borrow all my clothes.’’
