What’s cool according to teenagers

Parents: All of your kids are on Snapchat — and there’s nothing you can do about it. Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images

Reddit asked its teenage users the extremely dangerous question “What’s cool nowadays?’’ — and the response is almost exactly what you’d expect it to be. Widely agreed upon: party drugs, sexual innuendos, Snapchat, “real hipsters,’’ and EDM. The list is currently more than 21,000 comments deep, but here are some of our favorites:

“Vans crew socks with Converse’’ — It’s like battle of the brands, on your feet.

“Cussing every other word’’ — Kids will be kids.

“Sex (except blow jobs if you’re a girl)’’ — This is why your parents worry.

Abercrombie and Fitch/Hollister — Says a user from “an extremely wealthy area with little patches of poverty sprinkled in.’’ (There’s hope for you yet, Mike Jeffries!)

“Facebook, Whatsapp and Youtube surely are cool. (You are kind of not existent without Facebook)’’ — Clearly Zuckerberg was onto something.

Pokemon — I guess?

“Thick, strong and ‘fierce’ eyebrows’’ for girls — This I call the Cara Delevingne effect.

“Ecstasy is incredibly huge in Australia at the moment.’’ — This is also why your parents worry.

“Hating on people like Miley Cyrus, Justin Beiber’’ — Sorry, guys.

“lush bath bombs’’ — This was randomly specific, but they are really nice.

“’Fresh creps’ aka, nice clean new trainers (especially those neon Nike ones)’’ — Of course.

“Roaming your local area/city centre with your friends without a real agenda’’ — Sure.

“Being smart isn’t considered nerdy, people actually seem to appreciate the ‘nerds’’’ — This was somewhat insightful, but followed by “And when it comes to cars it’s either who has the biggest truck or fastest car’’

“Liking vaguely hipster music, but not too hipster’’— The official classifications are up for debate.
