The MFA is hosting an overnight party this weekend
Have you ever dreamed of spending a night at the museum? Now you can.Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts is hosting a free overnight event jampacked with activities in the Linde Family Wing for Contemporary Art this weekend, the museum said on its website.
The Launch Party will kick off Saturday at 6 p.m. and last until Sunday at 9 a.m.
Attendees will be able to discover after-hours footage of Christian Marclay’s 24-hour video collage The Clock, L.A.-based artist Frances Stark’s life work, and abstract drawings and prints by Terry Winters.
“Dance all night, stargaze in the courtyard, or lace up your kicks for a late-night run outside the Museum,” the museum said on its website.
Bonetown Burgers, Indulge India, North East of the Border, and Sheherazad food trucks will provide food for event-goers, while Substructure, a DJ collective “focused on highlighting marginalized and emerging performers,” will perform from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to the museum.
Night owls can participate in the Insomniac Olympics at 3 a.m. in the Calderwood Courtyard, while early birds can enjoy a yoga session, hosted by Equinox, from 7-9 a.m. on Sunday in Gallery 265.
At a MassVOTE booth, open from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., attendees will also be able to register to vote, the museum said. Other activities include lawn games, lectures, artist demonstrations, and performance art.
Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis (with no advance tickets) at the Linde Family Wing Entrance, according to the museum.
The event is the first of four all-night parties to take place over the next four months as part of the mfaNOW Overnight series, a celebration of contemporary art.
