Mel Brooks is coming to Boston for a special screening of ‘Blazing Saddles’
The legendary filmmaker will hold a Q&A at the Wang Theatre.
An American comedy legend is coming to Boston for a very special film screening.Mel Brooks, whose contributions to film and stage as an actor, writer, director, and producer rank among the greatest of the 20th century, will participate in a conversation about his career and answer audience questions following a screening of his beloved film Blazing Saddles at the Wang Theatre. The event will take place on Saturday, October 22 at 2 p.m.Brooks, 90, is one of only 12 entertainers to join the EGOT club by winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony Award. Besides Blazing Saddles, Brooks’s best known works include The Producers, Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs, and Robin Hood: Men in Tights. In case you’re doubting the importance of Blazing Saddles or of Brooks’s career, let the man himself sell you on its bonafides: “There is no movie ever made in America that’s as funny as Blazing Saddles,” Brooks told Hitfix in 2014. “It’s by far the number one.”Tickets for the special event in Boston will go on sale Friday, August 12 on the Wang Theatre website.
