Outside the Box, Boston’s annual free performing arts festival taking place July 13 to 17, has added one of the leading actresses on Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black as one of its headlining performers.

Lea DeLaria, who plays Carrie “Big Boo” Black in the series, which returned for a fourth season in June, will headline the festival’s Tremont Tent on July 16. Aside from her role in OITNB, DeLaria is a comedian, vocalist, and jazz musician. Her sixth record, House of David: delaria + bowie = jazz, was released last summer.

Outside the Box has more than 100 performances lined up for the festival, ranging from local to national names. Previously announced performers include Daughtry, Smash Mouth, the Young Wild, the Wild Feathers, the Record Company, and Michael Franti & Spearhead. See the complete lineup and event schedule here.
