Jon Stewart is set to host WWE’s ‘SummerSlam’
After a tearful goodbye from The Daily Show, Jon Stewart is set to take his talents to the world of professional wrestling, according to USA Today.
Stewart, an avid wrestling fan who is in a long-running feud with current WWE heavyweight champion Seth Rollins, will be ringside on August 23rd, providing color commentary for SummerSlam, one of the WWE’s most popular annual events.
Though he is slated to wrestle with his title on the line that night, Rollins is sure to have words for Stewart, who, in a March appearance on the WWE’s Monday Night Raw, managed to kick him in the groin before fleeing the ring.
SummerSlam has provided some of wrestling’s most famous matches, including Bret Hart vs. The British Bulldog, Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. The Undertaker, The Rock Vs. Kurt Angle, and Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels. The WWE touts it as their second-biggest event of each year.
