In Columbia, South Carolina, the latest stop on his Out There! Tour, less than 2 hours from Charleston, Sir Paul McCartney took the stage. Near the end of his set, he dedicated a tune to the victims of the recent tragedy.

“The Long And Winding Road,’’ a Beatles track from 1970, is already an emotional one. Before launching into last night’s rendition, he told the crowd, “this next song we would like to dedicate to all the people in Charleston… We show how solid we are with them after they’ve been through this tragedy. We pray that people of all colors will be able to live together in peace and harmony.’’
