12 things to do on Father’s Day in Boston
-

Go wild. Dads get in free at the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston and Stone Zoo in Stoneham on Father’s Day.
-

Cool off. It’s opening weekend at Boston’s two outdoor pools, the BCYF Clougherty Pool in Charlestown and the BCYF Mirabella Pool in the North End.
-

Grab an oar. Take dad kayaking on the Charles with Community Boating, Inc., which offers sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding, and kayaking.
-

Marvel at Monster trucks. Take dad to Monster Jam at Gillette Stadium Saturday at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 for kids and $25 for adults.
-

Brunch to bluegrass. Dad can choose between steak frites and eggs, turkey hash with poached eggs, or short rib eggs benedict while listening to live bluegrass music at Beat Brasserie (aka Beat Hôtel).
-

Beach it. Take dad to America’s first public beach, Revere Beach, and frolick in the sand and surf. When hunger strikes, grab a roast beef sandwich or a lobster roll from Kelly’s.
-

Eat free. Head to Pantry in Natick, where dad can eat this 10-ounce sirloin for free with his choice of two sides.
-

Relax on an island. Take dad to the 39-acre Georges Island, part of the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park. Take a ranger-guided tour, tour the museum, and picnic on the grounds.
-

Burn calories. Exercise at Recycle Studio, which is offering a free session for dads Sunday at 10 a.m. at its South End location and 5 p.m. at its Boston Common location. Bonus: You get a free credit for bringing him.
-

Drink a beer. Take dad on a tour of the Samuel Adams Brewery at 30 Germania St. in Boston on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. for free.
-

Catch a movie. Take dad to the drive-in this weekend. There are plenty of drive-ins across New England to choose from, including the Mendon Twin Drive-In, which offers a beer garden.
-

Climb a tree. It’s a bit of a drive, but you can take dad to Ramblewild, a tree-to-tree aerial park in Lanesborough, for a fun way to explore nature.
