Boston Area Native Eliza Dushku Coming to Rhode Island Comic Con
Boston-area native and nerd niche actress Eliza Dushku will be at the Rhode Island Comic Con this weekend.
Most Americans discovered Dushku in the 1994 Arnold Schwarzenegger film “True Lies,’’ in which she plays Schwarzenegger’s thieving teen daughter who is headed down a bad road before being captured by the villains. Her character eventually helps Daddy Schwarzenegger save the day.
Dushku’s comic con cred was further established in Kevin Smith’s “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back,’’ and on television in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer’’ and “Angel.’’
Born in Watertown in 1980, Dushku was discovered when she was cast in the role of Alice opposite Juliette Lewis in the 1992 film “That Night.’’ She previously acted in amateur presentations at the Watertown Children’s Theater, where she was part of the company since she was in the first grade.
