Puttin’ on the Squeeze: Squeezebox Slam, June 14
The humble accordion may be the butt of jokes, but it’s also a lot of fun. If you don’t believe us, see for yourself at the third annual Squeezebox Slam. The celebration of accordions, button boxes, and other free standing reed instruments is curated by local accordion meister Michael McLaughlin.
Those who have an accordion are invited to bring it to the Accordion Stroll. For three hours, players of all ages and skill levels are roam Davis Square. At the blowout concert, host Lady Kielbasia gets things rolling with a group play-a-long. Performances by Tom and Barbara Pixton, Paul Monte with Tal Shalom-Kobi, Alec Redfearn and the Eyesores, Christina Crowder with Charles Casimiro, and Dallas Vietty’s Musette Project follow.
