Less than a month after featuring a category about Massachusetts colleges, “Jeopardy!” returned this week with what seemed like a relatively easy category about the city of Boston.
“Seemed like” is the operative phrase. Because contestants on Monday night’s episode struggled with the category “Boston Space,” about physical landmarks in the city.
One contestant gave an incorrect answer to the $600 question before a second contestant rang in with the correct one. And all three contestants opted not to buzz in for the $800 and $1000 clues, in what’s known as a “triple stumper.”
Think you can answer all five correctly? Here are the clues. Answers (in the form of a question) are at the bottom of the article.
(For those who want to watch the full episode, recent episodes of “Jeopardy!” are now streaming on both Peacock and Hulu.)
$200: 43 Monument Sq. is the address for the 221′ obelisk that took 17+ years to build & is named for this battle it memorializes
$400: New England Patriots can walk this 2.5-mile red line that passes by Granary Burying Ground & Park Street Church
$600: You can hop on over to the Frog Pond in this 50-acre pentagon
$800: Truly a hall of fame, this was built in 1742 as a gift to Boston from a local merchant who did score naming rights
$1000: The Boston Marathon finishes up in this alliterative neighborhood that includes Newbury Street & Comm Ave
$200: What is the Battle of Bunker Hill?
$400: What is the Freedom Trail?
$600: What is Boston Common? (One contestant incorrectly answered “Harvard Yard”)
$800 (triple stumper): What is Faneuil Hall?
$1000 (triple stumper): What is Back Bay?
