“SNL” returned to the air for the fifth episode of its 51st season on Saturday, Nov. 8, with comedian Nikki Glaser serving as host and Sombr performing as musical guest.
Glaser has been a fixture in the comedy world for more than a decade, but really saw her star rise in 2024, when she was the best part of the Tom Brady roast. She parlayed that into a gig hosting the Golden Globes, roasting more sports and entertainment figures at the NFL honors, and sitting with Bill Belichick and girlfriend Jordon Hudson at the Super Bowl.
In a February 2025 interview with Boston.com, Glaser called her sudden rise in popularity after years of grinding it out on the standup circuit “unreal.”
“I think the last time I did Boston, it was a smaller theater, and it was just two shows,” Glaser said. “So this is a pretty tangible example of how my life has changed in the past year. It’s awesome. I finally got a seat at the popular table. I’m completely blown away. I’ve somehow found myself at the cool party. I never want it to feel normal.”
