After a one-week hiatus, “SNL” returned to the air for the fourth episode of its 51st season on Saturday, Nov. 2, with actor Miles Teller serving as host and Brandi Carlile performing as musical guest.

Teller was hosting for his second time, following his debut in the first episode of Season 48. Carlile, meanwhile, was back for her fourth stint as musical guest. The singer-songwriter memorably served as a joint musical guest with Elton John in the standout Season 50 episode hosted by Jack Black.

Teller wasn’t the only star to show up during the episode. In the political cold open, Teller took part in a mock New York City mayoral debate with two recent “SNL” hosts, playing Andrew Cuomo opposite Zohran Mamdani (Ramy Youssef) and Curtis Sliwa (Shane Gillis).
