Elton John will say “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” for the final time in America next year.
On Wednesday, the singer announced final dates for his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, which Sir Elton says will be his last in North America and Europe. Included on the list of dates is a Thursday, July 28, 2022, concert at Gillette Stadium.
The Rocket Man last performed in Boston at TD Garden on Nov. 15, 2019.
“The shows that I announce today will be my final tour dates ever in North America and Europe,” John said in a press release. “I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career.”
The Farewell Tour began back in September 2018, but was disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic. Along with previously scheduled dates in North America and Europe, John’s announcement Wednesday added more than 30 new venues to the tour.
General ticket sales will begin at 10 a.m. EST Wednesday, June 30, through Ticketmaster. Presales for VIP Packages, Platinum seating, and American Express Card Members begin at 12 p.m. EST on Wednesday, June 23.
