Elizabeth Banks shared a photo of her visit to the MFA
The Pittsfield native is apparently an art fan.
It seems like actress Elizabeth Banks had a fun a visit to her home state over the past few days.
On Monday, the Pittsfield native posted an Instagram photo of herself at the Museum of Fine Arts, which is hosting its “Frida Kahlo and Arte Popular” exhibit through June 19. Banks used an image of Kahlo’s “Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird” as a backdrop and succinctly captioned the picture, “#art is cool.”‘

An MFA spokesman wrote in an email that while staff didn’t know about Banks’s trip beforehand, they were “glad she came to the Museum and enjoyed her visit.”
Banks also showed her appreciation for art of another type on Sunday, when, according to the Boston Herald, the actress posted footage of herself at the Cher concert at TD Garden to her Instagram story.
Fans will next be able to see Banks on the big screen in “Brightburn,” a superhero horror film in which Banks plays the adoptive mother of an alien child who begins to use his powers for evil. The twisted take on the “Superman” origin story flies into theaters on May 24.
