Watch Jimmy Kimmel roast LA newscasters’ terrible Boston accents
In a shocking turn of events, Los Angeles anchors are not wicked awesome at speaking like some Bostonians.
Breaking news: Los Angeles newscasters don’t know how to do Boston accents.
During Tuesday’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Kimmel played a compilation of local anchors’ cringeworthy attempts at stereotypical Boston accents during their broadcasts. From numerous cracks at saying “Fenway Pahk” and “Bahston” to the obligatory references to a “cah in the yahd” and eating some “clam chowdah,” every second of the montage is groan-inducing and yet utterly hilarious at the same time.
Now all we can hope for is for some of Boston’s news anchors to try out their own awful SoCal accents when the series moves to Los Angeles on Friday. Perhaps they can turn to this video of a quintessential surfer bro or watch some old editions of “The Californians” sketch from “Saturday Night Live” to brush up.
