The final 11 competitors on NBC’s “The Voice” performed songs chosen by their fans on Monday night.

Fifteen-year-old Brynn Cartelli’s followers picked a Lady Gaga song for the reality competition’s youngest contestant. The Longmeadow high school freshman sang Lady Gaga’s “You and I” and received a standing ovation — as usual — from her coach, Kelly Clarkson. The other coaches this season are Adam Levine, Alicia Keys, and Blake Shelton.

“Gaga is not easy to cover, man,” Clarkson said after Cartelli’s performance. “Your vibe, everything about how you move, you’re just so confident and comfortable in your skin, and you’re only 15. And it’s crazy. It is so infectious, and that is why America keeps voting you through. Because you’re beautiful and you’re so talented.”

During a previous show, Clarkson said she thought Cartelli would win the competition.

Host Carson Daly spoke to fans in the audience before the artists performed on Monday night. A woman named Susan, from Wendell, Massachusetts, held up a sign that said, “Brynn 4 the Win,” and told Daly, “Brynn is so emotional and mature. It’s incredible that she’s 15 and she can make me feel like I’m reliving my biggest breakup all over again and experiencing the greatest joys of my life. I do not know how she does it. But I am so glad that our New England girl is going to sing “You and I.” She is going to do wicked amazing. I cannot wait. Go Brynn!”

“Wicked amazing,” Daly repeated, evidently appreciating the New England slang.

“The support from back home has been more than I ever expected,” Cartelli said during the episode. “They always knew me as the lacrosse player or the girl playing field hockey. Now they’re seeing me on national TV and they’ve been so supportive.”

Cartelli received a shout-out from the USA Field Hockey Team on Monday night when, in a video clip that aired during the episode, they said in unison, “Good luck, Brynn! Go team Kelly!”

Monday’s episode also included a clip of Cartelli and Clarkson visiting “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” The comedian’s advice for Cartelli? “Don’t try to be something you’re not. I think people read honesty and authenticity.”

Berklee College of Music student Jackie Foster, of California, performed live on Monday night, as well. She sang “Love, Reign O’er Me,” by The Who, which was also chosen by her fans. Foster is the lead singer of an alternative rock band called Self Portraits that performs across New England.

“Growing up, my dad is a classic rocker and all he ever listens to on the radio is The Rolling Stones, Pat Benetar, and Heart,” Foster said during the episode. “So the fact that people want to see that of me, it almost makes me feel like I’m going back to my roots.”

“I am just so ridiculously proud of how effortlessly you create this energy,” said Keys, Foster’s coach, after her performance. “You’re amazing. That was sick!”

One contestant will be eliminated during Tuesday night’s episode, and the remaining 10 contestants will perform again on Monday night. The show’s finale will air on May 22, at which time the winning artist will be rewarded with a recording contract.
