There have been rumors circulating since December 2017 that NBC is looking to bring back “The Office” in the 2018-19 TV season. Newton native John Krasinski, who played Jim on the show, told Ellen DeGeneres on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Monday that he hasn’t heard anything from studio executives, but he’d be willing to make a return.
“I did hear that! On the internet,” Krasinski said, when DeGeneres asked him whether he’d heard the rumors. “Guess who didn’t get a call? Me. What does that say? NBC is like, ‘You know who we didn’t like? Jim.’”
With the revival of “Will and Grace” and upcoming revivals of “Roseanne” and “Murphy Brown,” it’s definitely possible that NBC would be looking to bring back the employees of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company for an encore. Regardless of whether or not it is true, Krasinski said that he’s game.
“Oh my God, are you kidding?” Krasinski told DeGeneres. “I’d love to get that gang back together.”
