Jimmy Fallon teases Ben and Casey Affleck in Golden Globes monologue
"You might remember 'Manchester by the Sea' for being the only thing from 2016 that was more depressing than 2016."
Jimmy Fallon slipped a few jokes in at the expense of Casey Affleck, Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon during the beginning of the Golden Globes on Sunday.
A few moments into his opening monologue, Fallon poked fun at the unrelenting sadness of Casey’s film Manchester by the Sea, and the awful reception of Ben’s film Batman v Superman.
“We have two-time Golden Globe winner and seven-time nominee Matt Damon here tonight,” Fallon said. “Of course, we all know Matt Damon from his greatest acting role: telling Ben Affleck that he liked Batman v Superman.'”

Before the monologue, Fallon kicked off the show with a pretaped sketch parodying the opening scene of La La Land, with stars of shows like Game of Thrones and Stranger Things singing and dancing in the streets of Los Angeles, as well as a flying duet between the host and good pal Justin Timberlake.
