On Tuesday’s episode of The Late Late Show, Bruno Mars became the latest pop star to join host James Corden for a rendition of Carpool Karaoke, following in the footsteps of Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, and most recently, Madonna.
Mars and Corden ran through some of the singer’s biggest hits, including “Uptown Funk,” “Locked Out Of Heaven,” and “Grenade,” as well as the lead single off of Mars’s upcoming album, 24K Magic.
The two also discussed the pop star’s ability to make any hat look good, and the very early start to his music career.
When Corden asked Mars when he first knew he wanted to start performing, Mars said, “Four years old. I was impersonating Elvis Presley in my dad’s rock ‘n’ roll 1950s revue in Waikiki.”
Naturally, Mars followed this up with his own rendition of Presley’s “Jailhouse Rock,” and showed off his best impression of Presley’s trademark lip-curling sneer.
