Though the combined forces of Samantha Bee, Trevor Noah, and John Oliver gave viewers plenty of incisive late-night political commentary this year, the whole election process felt a little bit strange without the presence of Jon Stewart’s Daily Show or Stephen Colbert’s Colbert Report.

So it just felt right that the former Comedy Central hosts joined forces on Monday night for a get-out-the-vote musical number featuring an appearance from Hamilton star Javier Muñoz (who replaced Lin-Manuel Miranda as the musical’s title character on Broadway).

The segment began with a musical back-and-forth between Colbert and an adorable street urchin fed up with the election process. Just when Colbert thought he had convinced her to vote, in walked Stewart.

Dressed as the “Mayor of Candytown,” Stewart told the young orphan that voting is optional and offered her a toffee. However, his attitude changed when he heard that it is Donald Trump, not Walter Mondale, running for president.

Still, the little girl remained unconvinced until Muñoz arrived in full Hamilton wardrobe and dropped a few lines about the historical importance of voting.

“Staying home isn’t a statement,” Muñoz rapped. “You’re saying you gave up your say in the way that your state went.”

“Years from now, what do you say? Fifty years away from this election day,” Muñoz continued. “Did you fight and use your right, did you decide? Or refuse to use your right people died for?”
