“Yeah, I’m between jobs right now.”

Prior to Jimmy Kimmel’s opening monologue at the 2016 Emmy Awards, the host starred in an amusing “I’m late for the awards” sketch. And when a White Ford Bronco, a minivan full of sitcom stars, and a “Carpool Karaoke” session with James Corden couldn’t get the host to the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, he flagged down a presidential motorcade for fictional Veep president Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) driven by none other than Jeb Bush, in one of the funniest moments of the night.

“Yeah I’m in between jobs right now,” the former Florida governor and candidate for the Republican presidential nomination told Kimmel. “Did you know you can make $12 an hour driving for Uber?”

After asking Kimmel if he was nominated (“Wow, what’s that like?”), Bush assured the late-night host that he had a shot at winning.

“Here’s what I know,” Bush said. “If you run a positive campaign, the voters ultimately will make the right choice.”

“You know, it’s funny you say that…” Kimmel began.

“Jimmy, that was a joke,” Bush said. “Get out of the car.”

After a campaign in which it often seemed like more people laughed at him than with him, it was nice to see Jeb(!) having some fun for once.
