And the crowd loved it.

Four members of the U.S. women’s Olympic gymnastics team made a splash at the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night, meeting some of Hollywood’s biggest stars and even presenting an award to Beyonce.Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian, and Needham’s Aly Raisman fought through giggles and loud cheers from the crowd as they presented the nominees for Best Female Video. Absent from the party was teammate Gabby Douglas, who was reportedly dealing with an illness. “The five women nominated for best female video work hard to be at the top of their game,” Raisman said of nominees Sia, Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Adele, and Beyonce. “They are role models to us, and we hope to be the same to the younger generation of women.”Hernandez added: “And we love them all.”When Beyonce took the stage after winning for her video for “Hold Up,” the gymnasts were understandably excited — though maybe not quite as excited as when they got to meet Zac Efron.
