Thursday marks the two-year anniversary of Robin Williams’s passing, a tragic loss felt by millions who treasured the actor’s work. But his legacy remains alive for many, whether it be through his stand-up routines, his early television roles, or his Oscar-winning performance in Good Will Hunting. Matt Damon, the Cambridge native and star of Good Will Hunting, spoke to Irish website JOE about the iconic scene he shared with Williams.“I had probably one or two lines in that whole scene. It was Robin’s scene,” Damon said. “When he was just crushing it on the first take, I just went, ‘This is going to be really good.’”

Damon also mentioned that he took his family to visit the bench on a recent trip to Boston.

“I was back there recently and I went back to that bench,” he said. “It’s right there in Boston Commons. I walked over there with my family and we sat on the bench. The kids didn’t know. They’ve never seen the movie, they’re too young. But it was nice to go back and think about him there.”Watch the clip below.
