A man named James Taylor sang on ‘The Bachelorette’ last night
No, not that James Taylor.
On Monday night’s season 12 premiere of The Bachelorette, James Taylor stepped out of the limo with an acoustic guitar to serenade Bachelorette JoJo Fletcher.

No, it wasn’t the Boston-born singer-songwriter looking for love—it was 29-year-old James Taylor of Texas, by the same name and occupation.

Fans of the ABC series jumped at the opportunity to call out this James Taylor for his similarities to the better-known James Taylor.
A singer/songwriter named James Taylor? Feel like I’ve seen that somewhere before…. #TheBachelorette

James Taylor might want to change your name if your going to play that guitar. There is already a real good James Taylor. #TheBachelorette

According to his Instagram, the Texas James Taylor chooses to go by James McCoy when he’s performing, but he still appeared on the show using the famed singer’s name.
There’s a singer-songwriter on the Bachelorette named James Taylor. I feel like this was a bit of an oversight on his part, job-wise??

James Taylor made it through the rose ceremony, meaning we’ll be seeing him on more episodes of The Bachelorette. Maybe the legendary James Taylor will make a cameo on the show so the same-named singers can duet?
