Aubry Bracco, a 29-year-old social media marketer from Cambridge, did not win the $1 million prize on CBS’s Survivor Wednesday night, but some fans of the show thought that she should have.

Bracco made it to the final three of the reality TV show competition, which was set on the island of Kaôh Rong in Cambodia for its 32nd season with the theme “Brains, Brawn, and Beauty.” Bracco was delegated to team “Brains.”

In the season finale Wednesday night, Bracco addressed the jury, made up of already voted-off contestants, about why she should be named the sole Survivor. Though the jury didn’t choose Bracco—they decide the winner by voting for who they think best played the game—Bracco did receive compliments for her growth over the season.

“Aubry was a come from behind player. She started out in a deep hole. Maybe too deep,” Probst told EW. “Her recovery was really something amazing as she went from ‘first out’ to final three. That’s quite an accomplishment when you go back to episode one.”

One juror, Debbie Wanner, praised Bracco for her “metamorphosis from a neurotic nerd to geek warrior.”

New Jersey bartender Michele Fitzgerald took home the $1 million prize.
